The FedEx Cup, Barclays, Liberty National:
Monuments to Excess
Geoff Russell, Golf World, thought about writing something about Liberty National Golf Club and the FedEx Cup. "But then I read this column by Nancy Berkley on Cybergolf.com and decided she had already done it for me."
Now you can read about it here on Ladies Golf Journey.
The final round of The Barclays golf tournament played at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City, New Jersey, with Miss Liberty as the backdrop had a great finish with a clutch putt by the winner -- Heath Slocum. Tiger, Els, Striker and Harrington all tied at second. There's much more to the story, however, and it's not about drives and putts.
Berkley writes, "The Statue of Liberty was the monument the TV cameras focused on. But...that final round was a good one, is a positive omen." More
